Virginia Reynolds Parker, CFA, Founder and Managing Member of Parker Global Strategies, LLC frequently writes, speaks, and publishes articles on the Alternative Investments and other industry topics. She has recently edited a book, Managing Hedge Fund Risk From the Seat of the Practitioner - Views from Investors, Counterparties, Hedge Funds and Consultants, published in February 2001*, by Risk Books. The book contains chapters contributed by a number of prominent participants in the hedge fund industry. As of September 2001, nearly 900 copies of the English version and 2,500 copies of the Japanese translation had been sold. The book is the first hedge fund book focused specifically on risk management practices for hedge funds. Following the book's launch, Ms. Parker has been requested to speak at a number of conferences in the US, Europe, and Asia on her chapter, "The Critical Path to Effective Hedge Fund Risk Management: Control, Transparency, and Risk Performance Measurement." Additionally, the Firm has contributed a number of articles about manager research, due diligence, asset allocation, and foreign exchange to publications for the hedge fund industry.
